Our society has suffocated us

Our society has suffocated us, and made it impossible for any form of individuality. The society we all individual participate in has creeped into the cracks of our skulls and devoured us as a whole. Tim O’Brien’s utter embarrassment of denying the patriotism of his country had drove him to the edge, but like many of us, he cannot bear to hear the his hometown’s quiet whispers about his cowardice for not fulfilling his duty. Social expectations creates a regulation on what people do, say and think, we can’t make our own decisions without the weight of the world slowly sinking us into the depths of fear of what others will think. Many times we feel that although we’ve gone through a tough battle against these expectations, we fundamentally fail to be victorious.
